Art for Awareness: a monthly national art competition, run end to end

A cause-based drawing competition open to every age in India, with no entry fee. One theme a month, a blind jury, results on a fixed day, and a certificate for every participant. We built the platform and run the demand.

The problem

Running a national contest by hand means thousands of emails, spreadsheets of entries, jurors who can see names, and certificates made one at a time.

The programme also needed steady sign-ups every month without an ad budget.

What we built

Entry to result

Participants register, download the month's art sheet, submit their artwork and track their status.

Blind jury

Judges score entries without seeing names or schools. Results publish on a fixed date.

Certificates for all

Every participant receives a certificate; winners get theirs with prize details.

Five roles

Separate panels for participants, judges, sponsors, school coordinators and admins.

Results & gallery

Public results and a gallery for every grade, each on its own page.

Demand engine

Search ads run on Google Ad Grants, paired with SEO pages for each competition type.

How it works

  1. AnnounceA new theme goes out on the 10th with a downloadable art sheet.
  2. SubmitEntries open on the 15th and close at month end.
  3. JudgeA blind jury scores across 27 categories.
  4. CelebrateResults, certificates and the gallery go live on the 5th.

Decisions that mattered

Hand-drawn only

The rules require artwork on physical paper. The platform is built around that, not around digital uploads of AI art.

The calendar runs itself

The monthly phase is computed from the date, so the site never depends on a scheduled job firing on time.
